Algar munipality in the province of Cádiz.
Jerez de la Frontera: 51 Km (30 Km of highway).
El Puerto de Santa María: 70 Km.
Arcos de la Frontera: 22 Km.
It is located within the Cork Oaks Park. It is fenced with a hunting fence 2 meters high. It has a trig point called Puerto del Lobo. Estate´s views are very superb. The houses are in perfect condition. Cork is of good quality.
The forest mass is distribuited approximately as follows:
Cork oak, Acebuchal and Grass: 50% approx.
Zones of rockrose and pines: 50% approx.
The northwest face, with fertile soil, good pasture interspersed with wild olive and cork tres, is complete different from the southeast face, with Little organic matter soil where the rockrose and pines is given.
Mediterranean climate, with average rainfall between 600 and 1,000 l/m2 on overage 60 days of rain. The easterly winds have not the strength of the coastal part.Nor is there any moisture from the sea resulting in a drier and beneficial to the quality of cork climate.
Deer, wild boar, mouflon, fallow deer and roe deer.
There is enough water for the castle itself. The water for the house comes from Algar. The Estate borders is one side with the Swamp of Ferrets, and the Majaceite River, which about 2,5 Km of it are inside the fence.
Housing: The old house was renovated it is a three floors house with ten bedrooms and spacious living room, porch, and all amenities, including swimming pool and tennis court.
There is also another house with an área o f 200 m2 approximately. It is currently inhabited by the manager of the farm, and there are two other houses, for the estate and the house keepers. All the properties have been renovated in recent years so they are in perfect condition.
Supplies: The house has electricity and water network, as well as rural pone line.
Fences: In addition to the perimeter fence of two meters, the estate has two inner fences for hunting, with different heights.
Roads: There is a network of unpaved roads that allow Access to all ends of the estate. The main road surrounding the farm has ditches, culverts, making it accesible throughout the year.
Livestock: Currently cows are welcome since the rains begin until Junee. Depending on the rainfall of the year can cover between 40 and 100 cows.
Formerly there were goats and pigs fattened with acorn. As today the estate is mainly intended to Hunt these livestock is avoided.
Hunting: It is the big game´s estate with more tradition of the province of Cadiz, where the first mixed monterias deer and roe deer occurred. It has subsequently been fenced and now has 5 big game species.
The estate is prepared with internal fences for different types of hunting.
Forest: The mass of cork oak produces around 12,000 quintals of good quality cork.
